As the original author seems to keep quiet, I now take the
liberty to translate.
This thread discusses a required correction for the caption of the first
photograph on the equipment of the Winter War.
The caption goes "American 7.62 millimeter Lewis rapid fire rifle from western arm aid for Finland."
The counter-argument states that as opposed to the caption,
the weapon actually is a Dektyarev model 27 automatic rifle,
which was captured as war booty during the first days.
In Finland, it was dubbed "Emma" (a female name equivalent to Emily).
This was because
1. The round shape of the magazine was seen to resemble a "record",
which "played" as the weapon fired
2. At the time Emma was the subject of a popular walz
